LabVIEW VI's

Numeric Key Pad -  We frequently need to receive operator input for our projects.  We developed this VI as an easy method to enter numeric data.  You can input a message prompt for the operator and output the data that he enters.
Alpha Key Pad - This VI is similar to to the numeric keypad but is used to enter text data.  Data can be entered by clicking on the keys with the mouse or by typing on your PC's keypad.
Write to PLC - This VI is a communication driver for use with the AutomationDirect (A.K.A. PLC Direct) brand of Programmable Logic Controllers.  Use this VI to write data to V-Memory or C locations.  This VI works with any of the model 205 or 405 PLC's.  (Note: this VI uses serial port communications.  Be sure to run the LabVIEW "Initialize Port" VI first.
Read from PLC - This VI is a communication driver for use with the AutomationDirect (A.K.A.) PLC Direct brand of Programmable Logic Controllers.  Use this VI to read data stored in V-Memory or C locations.  This VI works with any of the model 205 or 405 PLC's.  (Note: this VI uses serial port communications.  Be sure to run the LabVIEW "Initialize Port" VI first.
Cyclical Redundancy Check -  This VI calculates the CCITT-CRC value which needs to be appended to the end of a transmit string. If you don't know what a CCITT-CRC is, then you probably have no use for this VI!
Johnson Controls Communication Driver - This is a simple N2 communication driver demo for use with Johnson Controls Companion brand of HVAC process controllers.
Julian Date - This is a simple VI that returns the Julian Date value for today's date.  It could be easily modified to provide the Julian equivalent of any day of the year but we'll that exercise to you. 
Read Bytes at Port - A common issue that many beginners run into with LabVIEW's Serial Port VI's is that they do not know how to gracefully abort the READ BYTES AT PORT VI.  This VI uses a simple timeout feature to abort the serial port read if data is not available within an allotted time period.  You can set the number of bytes to be read and the timeout value of this VI.
